Melissa Benoist Expects First Child

Melissa Benoist and her husband Chris Wood are expecting their first child together.

The 'Supergirl' co-stars took to social media to announce their family is set to grow by sharing a selfie with their dog as the expectant mum held up a small blue jumper.


Melissa wrote on the photo sharing platform: "A non-canine child is coming to our family very soon!!! @christophrwood has always been an old dad by nature but now he's going to be a real one!"

Chris opted for a picture of Melissa hugging him from behind while he displayed a fake baby bump on his own stomach, and wrote: "The photo is a joke but the news is real...!!!"

The pregnant comes six months after they tied the knot.
