Channing has moved on in his own romantic life with singer Jessie J. He shares daughter Everly, aged six, with Jenna.
Insiders said of the engagement news: "Jenna has a special place in Channing's heart since she is the mother of their child, but they have both moved on and are happy in their new relationships.
"Channing's main priority and concern is his daughter, and him and Jenna are both happy to have worked out a co-parenting agreement."
While the happy couple celebrate their recent engagement, their nuptials are expected to be on hold for a while as they await the birth of their first child together.
