Wells Adams Sought Julie Bowen's Marriage Blessing

Before proposing to his now-fiancée Sarah Hyland, Wells Adams made sure to contact her on-screen mother for approval, it has emerged.

Julie Bowden, who stars alongside Sarah as Claire Dunphy in ABC's 'Modern Family' revealed that Wells approached her for her blessing before getting down on one knee last July.


When asked during an Instagram video for 'The Skimm' if she had met Wells, Julie said: "Wells asked me my permission to marry Sarah."

'The Bachelorette' star put his own twist on the tradition of asking the bride's parents for their blessing ahead of their romantic engagement in Fiji.

Julie has made no secret of her love for Sarah and Wells as a couple and previously told the press they were "very sweet" together.
