The former baseball player got down on one knee during a romantic trip to the Bahamas this year. The popstar, who has been married three times before, believes it is an honour to have Alex as her fiancé.
Jennifer told People magazine: "It's a blessing!"
She added: "When you find you, really find you, that's when everything starts falling into place. I feel more confident and at peace with who I am and more aware of what I bring to the table, but that was a huge journey."
The couple, who each have children of their own, are now planning their wedding and are also keen to have a child together in the future.
