The 34-year-old, who plays 'Shona Ramsay' on the popular soap opera confirmed the happy news by saying: "Ben and I are delighted to announce that we are expecting our first baby at the end of this year!
"We are absolutely overjoyed and can't wait to meet our little one!"
The couple wed only a few months ago in Manchester's Albert Hall. At the time, Julia told OK! Magazine: "I love being on stage and I always wanted to get married on one!"
Gushing over his bride, Ben said: "As soon as I saw Julia, I just knew it was the best day of my life."
And the pair went against tradition in their wedding ceremony, deciding they would walk down the aisle together, hand-in-hand.
Julia said: "It was important for us to walk down the aisle together and my parents aren't traditional.
"My dad didn't mind not giving me away as he believes I'm my own person. I can totally understand why people do it, but the way we did it felt right for Ben and I."
