Former Eurovision Winner Brings LGBT Message To International Stage

Dana International, a former Eurovision winner, has returned to the singing competition stage with a pro-LGBT message; to celebrate love in all forms.

The Israeli singer won victory in 1998 and performed a Bruno Mars hit titled 'Just the Way You Are' on the first day of this year's semi-finals.

As she sang, a heart-shaped cam scouted the audience for loved-up couples and focused on many same-sex pairs, who happily embraced. An on-stage screen projected various messages, including the marriage equality slogan "Love is Love."

The competition is being held in Tel Aviv, Israel this year after Netta Barzilal won in 2018. Eurovision riles stipulate that the winning country gets to host the following year.

Several LGBT flags could be seen among the audience during Dana's performance.
