The sports stars, who both play for Orlando Pride as well as the US national team, revealed in an interview with People magazine that Ashlyn proposed last September, surprising her with a picnic on Florida's Clearwater Beach.
While the couple posed for a selfie during the romantic date, Ashlyn held up a ring.
Ali expressed her surprise at the proposal: "It was a really good time because I felt really on the same page with her, and really excited about our future and talking about our future plans with kids, and family, and things like that.
"It just was a really good time. I was really surprised because it just seemed like another weekend getaway for us. I wasn't really thinking about it at all!"
The pair are set to wed in Florida towards the end of 2019
