The actress has played a number of motherly roles in her career, which exposed her to the "realities" of having a family.
The 32-year-old is dating her 'Victoria' co-star Tom Hughes and doesn't plan to welcome any children of her own anytime soon.
In an interview with Britain's Harper's Bazaar magazine, she said of her recent roles: "That's probably opened up my mind to the realities. Half of my friends have babies, and half don't, so it doesn't feel like a pressure. I want to take my time. There's a whole lot more of the world for me to see first. I'd love to have children one day."
Jenna, a former 'Doctor Who' star, added that she doesn't want a huge family, unlike her current subject Queen Victoria in the regal drama.
"But not nine of them. I can tell you that as a fact," she joked when discussing how many kids she would like one day.
