The 50-year-old star announced on his show 'Watch What Happens Live' just before Christmas that he is expecting the tot, which will arrive "in around six weeks time", and has since revealed the genre of the pending arrival.
Speaking to host Anderson Cooper on CNN's live New Year's Eve show, he said: "I remember last year standing here thinking, 'Will my baby be born this year?'
"So, this is the biggest year for me."
When asked if he would reveal the sex of the baby, he responded: "It's a boy.
"And, I got to tell you something, I can not wait to meet this boy. I think he's going to have a nice Semitic head of hair. I'm so excited I think about nothing else."
The star never thought he would be able to become a father and praised his "wonderful" surrogate for the opportunity.
"Here we are in 2018, almost 2019, and anything's possible. I'm so grateful to the surrogate that I'm working with. I turned 50 this year, and it takes some people longer to get to that place and it took me this time."
