The Royal had a lead role in US legal drama Suits before she married Prince Harry in May of this year, and shared that she begun her career because of Julia, in an August interview.
When informed of this fact by People magazine, the 51-year-old actress was over the moon.
She said: "It's a great night for me! I am just going to be floating on that all night!"
In her 2017 profile for Glamour magazine, Meghan, who is expecting her first child, was asked to list the 10 woman who had influenced her life and noted that the Notting Hill star was the one who prompted her to follow that career path.
She wrote: "She was the first person I saw onscreen and thought, 'That looks like so much fun; I wanna do that.' When I was younger, someone once told me, 'You kind of look like Julia Roberts in profile.' It was the best compliment of all time."
