The comedian has been forced to cancel a show in Texas due to the condition, which is essentially an extreme form of morning sickness that causes severe nausea.
She posted her apologies on Instagram and reassured her fans that she is keeping well despite the illness.
She wrote: "Texas I am so deeply sorry. I have been really looking forward to these shows.
"I am in the hospital. I'm fine. Baby's fine, but everyone who says the 2nd trimester is better is not telling the full story."
Amy continued that she has been more ill in the current stage of pregnancy than she was before, but stressed that she feels "very lucky to be pregnant".
During a comedy gig earlier this month the star admitted she was finding the process hard and joked her situation was worsened by the fact the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, is making it look glamorous and easy.
