Ellen Pompeo Wants Her Son To Show Emotions

Ellen Pompeo is determined to make sure her son knows it's ok to be emotional, as she is trying to shed the stereotype that boys have to be tough.

The 48-year-old actress has 21-month-old son Eli Christopher with her husband Chris Ivery and admitted she is tired of boys being told not to cry, because she thinks that creates men with "fragile egos".


"We need to teach our boys and raise our young sons to show emotions."

The Greys Anatomy star also has daughters Stella, nine, and Sienna, four with Chris.

She told 'Actress Hollywood' of her duty as a mother.

"We have work to do ladies. We have a whole generation of young girls we have to make sure don't suffer the way we did.

"This is our job. This is our work. And I'm so here for it," she added.
