The couple won an Oscar this year for their short film A Silent Child and topped off their year by saying 'I Do'.
Rachel told The Sun Online: "We got married not that long ago in amongst all the madness!
"We wanted to keep it private, but I am so happy.
"It has been a very good year, I don't know what we are going to do next!"
Though the 30-year-old doesn't believe their Academy Award win has changed their everyday lives, both her and Chris have found they are in a better position professionally and are excited about the new opportunities opening up to them.
"Chris and I are a bit boring and normal so I do't think it has changed that much day to day, but it has certainly changed us creatively in terms of what we want to do and the meetings we've found ourselves in and doors that have been opened," Rachel said.

Former Hollyoaks actress Rachel Shenton has married her partner Chris Overton in an intimate ceremony.The couple won an Oscar this year for their short film A Silent Child and topped off their year by saying 'I Do'.
