In a new book called 'Feminists Don't Wear Pink (And Other Lies)' by Scarlett Curtis, Keira penned an open letter to her three-year-old daughter Edie, in which she condemns the message Kate Middleton sent to females around the world as she stepped out of the hospital to debut her new royal baby.
In the letter titled 'The Weaker Sex,' Knightley compares how she looked and acted after childbirth with how the Duchess of Cambridge appeared hours after she welcomed her baby girl, who was born a day after Keira gave birth to her own daughter.
"She was out of hospital seven hours later with her face made up and high heels on" Kiera wrote.
The 33-year-old actress believes the Duchess was delivering "the face the world wants to see" as she stepped out of the hospital with Prince William and debuted their arrival to the press.
"Hide our pain, our bodies splitting, our breasts leaking, our hormones raging.
"Look beautiful, look stylish, don't show your battleground," the letter reads.
In contrast, Kiera explains that she felt "exhausted and exposed" after giving birth and "wore a hospital gown with paper pants" while her family met her daughter.
The actress feels strongly that her birth experience, in comparison to that of the Duchess' should not make her appear "weaker".
