According to reports, the former footballer is ready to take the couple's relationship to the next level.
The pair were first romantically linked earlier this year, but only confirmed they were dating last month when Rio took to Instagram to share an image of them together on holiday with his family.
Their relationship is said to be serious and now Rio, 38, is said to be ready to propose.
A source is quoted by The Daily Star as saying: "Rio is all about the ring right now. His ambition is to win a belt in boxing, but we reckon he's after another ring long-term – an engagement ring for Kate. She's given up everything for him – now it's time for him to commit to her."
The news comes shortly after 26-year-old Wright said that she was taking a step back from the public eye as her priority at this moment was now Rio and his family.
Rio was previously married to Rebecca Ellison. She passed away following a battle with breast cancer in May 2015. The couple had three children together.
