McVey and her boyfriend Gary 'Gaz' Beadle revealed earlier this year that they were to become parents. The news came just a few weeks after the couple reunited in May.
In a new joint interview with OK! magazine, the pair discuss their split, as well as their preparations as they get ready to welcome a baby.
Gaz is quoted as saying: "It's a boy – I can't wait to have a little mate. For me, obviously I wanted a boy, so I'm buzzing."
"We both guessed right," added Emma. "I didn't mind either way. Gaz really wanted a boy, though."
Gaz and Emma started dating in August 2016 and were together for nine months before they announced they had gone their separate ways in May of this year. At the time, it had been reported that the Geordie Shore star had been unfaithful.
