Tatiana Fernandez works for Amazon and it was while at work that the ring went missing. The 49-year-old is understood to have lost the diamond ring in a box of children's books during the packing process at the company's facility in Gourock, Inverclyde.
Ms Fernandez did not realise the band had fallen into the box and she and her fiancé, Stuart O'Neil, who also works for Amazon, looked for the item along with their colleagues. They were not able to find it, however, and gave up the search.
The couple didn't realise that the item of jewellery had been accidentally sent to a customer in Manchester.
The customer, Stephenie Healiss, subsequently contacted Amazon and Ms Fernandez was reunited with the ring.
