The footballer was charged with drink driving last week and shortly after the news was released, further details surrounding the incident came to light. One of those reports was that the 31-year-old Rooney had "kissed and cuddled" a woman named Laura Simpson on that night out.
Ms Simpson later told the MailOnline that the couple would have slept together if the footballer had not been arrested.
Colleen, 31, who is pregnant with her husband's fourth child, was on holiday in Spain at the time of the alleged incident but she is now said to have returned home to confront her husband over the claims. Over the weekend, Colleen and her children were spotted at her parent's house, sparking speculation that she had walked out on her husband.
A source is quoted by The Sun as saying: "Things could change in the coming days but as things stand [Coleen's] had enough and it's finished. This was the final straw and she feels humiliated. She's planning to walk away."
A friend of Wayne's is said to have added: "Wayne doesn't know what to do with himself. He's had to apologise to Coleen for lots of things in the past but but this is looking like the toughest one yet. She is absolutely raging."
Colleen and Wayne have been together since they were 16, and have been married for nine years. They have three children together; sons Kai, seven, Klay, four, and 18-month-old Kit. Last month, she announced that she was pregnant with the couple's fourth child.
