According to reports, the actress has held off on continuing with proceedings after 53-year-old Pitt is said to have stopped drinking.
In an interview with GQ in May, the actor discussed his relationship with alcohol and said that he had not touched a drink for a lengthy period of time. He also said that he had entered therapy.
Now, Jolie, 42, is said to have stalled their divorce proceedings as a result of her husband's admission.
A source is quoted by Us Weekly as saying: "The divorce is off. They haven't done anything to move it forward in several months and no one thinks they are ever going to."
A source is also quoted as saying that Pitt has stayed away from alcohol and "got sober to try and win her back", while the move to stop drinking was "all she ever wanted".
The insider claimed: "Everyone thinks they are going to get back together. It wouldn't be surprising if they announced that they're calling it off and trying to work things out."
Pitt and Jolie started dating in 2004 but did not tie the knot until August 2014 in France. They have six children together; Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Shiloh, 11, Zahara, 12, and nine-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox. In September 2016, Jolie announced that she had filed for divorce.
