The former tennis star was recently declared bankrupt with debts of more than £3 million and it had been claimed that he was on the verge of splitting from his wife Lilly. However, the 49-year-old later took to Twitter to wish his wife a happy birthday, seemingly hitting out at claims that they were separating.
However, footage has now emerged of Lilly becoming upset after her husband failed to leave her a video message following a four-week trek she undertook through Namibia earlier this year. In scenes which are due to air later this week, Lilly – who took part in German television show Gladiators in February – can be seen questioning why her partner did not support her.
Lilly and her co-stars can be seen watching video messages from their loves ones following their month long journey, only for the 41-year-old to discover that she did not have a message from her husband of eight years.
Her co-stars are said to be critical of the former sporting star, as Lilly admits she is "hurt".
In lines aired to German website The Bild, Lilly admitted: "That really hurts, it's really mean. I thought I would be receiving a message from my husband, my son and my family.
"It's clear what it means. Boris definitively does not want to leave me a message. That's obvious. He could have at least done something – even if he was just pretending.
"I think that's really mean. He's been mean to me a long time. I would love to drive home and say 'f**k you'. I won't say 'f**k you', but...".
Boris and Lilly have been married for eight years and have one child together; a seven-year-old son called Amadeus.
