Appearing on Nick Grimshaw's morning show on Radio 1, the 37-year-old was discussing reality television show Love Island which premiered on Monday night, of which she hosts, when she mentioned her failed holiday romance.
She told Grimshaw: "I went to Japan and ended up meeting this guy from Los Angeles in a bar. We connected, went on a few dates. I was only young, 23/24, and I thought he was the one.
"We went home and we kept in touch for six months and one day he phoned and was like, 'This is ridiculous. I miss you, come to LA', and I was like, 'Oh, my God!'
"He put me on a flight to LA and I was like, 'This is amazing', and I told my Mum and said, 'This could be it'.
"When I landed I was nervous and I was in Arrivals and I couldn't see him anywhere. And then this guy approached me and he didn't look anything like the guy I'd had the romance with."
She continued: "It was awkward. He was like a completely different person. We went to his house where I stayed for two days and I was like, 'I can't stay here', and the only person I knew in LA was Jack Osbourne, because we'd met on Bo Selecta.
"He'd given me his number and said if I was ever in LA give him a call. So I texted him and said I was stuck in LA and I just needed to know a good hotel I could stay in.
"He's so nice. He asked where I was and said he'd be there in 15 minutes. So I had to dump this guy in 15 mins and I ended up staying with The Osbournes for two weeks."
Flack has been linked to a number of famous faces in the past including Harry Styles and Olly Murs. Most recently, she hinted that she was dating someone but refused to discuss the subject further.
