The couple celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary by renewing their commitment to each other.
In a new interview with Hello! magazine, 48-year-old Day is quoted as saying: "I am a lucky man, right now, and to be honest I am lucky to be here, and I don't mean in this room, I mean I am lucky to be alive.
"My life hit a very dark place and the fact that life is so wonderful now, I am thankful every single day."
Day and Dooley tied the knot in May 2007 at Comlongon Castle near Dumfries, and the pair returned to the venue to renew their vows. The couple have two children together; Madison and Dalton. Day is also a father to son Corey, 12, from a previous relationship with singer Suzanne Shaw.
