The news comes just a day after his ex-girlfriend, Cara De La Hoyde, revealed that she was pregnant with their first child.
It is understood the former couple discovered they were to become parents just two weeks before they decided to end their relationship in April. Cara later confirmed her baby news in an interview with OK! magazine, while her ex has now taken to Twitter to comment on the news.
He told his followers: "Yes it's true.. I'm going to be a Dad. It's an emotional time for me and I'm overwhelmed by all the support from both my family and friends."
Speaking to OK! magazine, 26-year-old Cara said that despite having a baby together, she and Nathan, 24, do not plan to reunite.
She told the magazine of their relationship: "It's a shame and a sad situation. I know a lot of people will think, 'well, you're going to have a baby together, so just stay together', but we're not going to do that just to look like the perfect couple.
"When I told him [Nathan], we were together but we'd been having problems for a while. People are probably expecting us to get back together because we're having a baby, but we're not one of those couples who can force something if it's not working.
"I just want to concentrate on the baby and he's the same. We've actually been having a really hard time. It's a lot to go through emotionally – breaking up, moving out and becoming parents."
Nathan and Cara met on reality television show Love Island last summer.
