It is understood the charges are connected to an incident which occurred at a property on the Castlecoole Road in the area on Saturday, 06 May.
The baby boy, who is thought to be around six-months-old, sustained serious injuries in the incident. He is currently in a stable condition in a hospital in Belfast.
The 21-year-old suspect appeared at Omagh Magistrates' Court today, 09 May.

A man has been charged with the attempted murder of a baby in Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh.It is understood the charges are connected to an incident which occurred at a property on the Castlecoole Road in the area on Saturday, 06 May.
