The couple first met early last year on Celebrity Big Brother and embarked on a relationship once they left the show. They dated on-and-off for a few months before calling time on their turbulent romance for good in April. The following month, Davis revealed that she was pregnant with McConnell's child. Their son, Caben Albi, was born earlier this year.
The pair were thought to have tried to put their differences aside for their son, but recently it was revealed that McConnell had checked into rehab – shortly after he was arrested for assault.
Now, he is due to leave rehab and Davis wants the pair to reunite and remain a family.
A source is quoted by The Sun as saying: "Steph believes all the problems in their relationship were down to Jeremy's drinking and drug-taking. She's convinced that once he gets professional help, they'll be able to be happy again.
"As soon as Jeremy leaves rehab, she wants him to move to Liverpool where she can keep a close eye on him and make sure he doesn't slip back into old habits. After everything they've been through.
"Steph is dreaming of a fairy-tale ending and that includes getting married. She believes a wedding would mark a fresh start and be the perfect chance to put the past behind them."
