The 36-year-old has previously spoken of her desire to have children and recently on The Only Way Is Essex her trip to a fertility clinic was captured for the television show. At the time, she hoped that she could freeze her eggs until she had found 'The One'.
However, on this week's episode of TOWIE she was told that she is unable to freeze her eggs.
In a meeting with Dr Gangooly at a fertility clinic, the reality star was told that she has a low egg count, meaning her fertility options would be limited.
She was told by the doctor: "I would strongly recommend against egg freezing – I don't think we'll get a lot out of it."
Dr Gangooly then explained that Gemma had two options; IVF with donor sperm, or the use of a donor egg and sperm. However, he told her that she needed to reduce her BMI if she was serious about the process.
