Peaches died from a heroin overdose in April 2014.
Thomas found his wife's body at their home, where their then 11-month-old son Phaedra had been alone with her for eight hours before Thomas returned with their elder son Astala after staying at his parents' house.
He said: "When I found her, I was not surprised. I thought to myself at the moment: 'Yes of course – you had to do that'.
"What I can remember, it must have been an hour after I've found it, that it's time for the kids' lunch.
"They needed their lunch. So I took the children's chairs to the table, took the yogurts out of the fridge, the bananas … After that we drove here. Escorted by the police."
Thomas married Peaches in 2012.

Peaches Geldof's husband Thomas Cohen has revealed how his sons are coping almost three years after the death of their mother.Peaches died from a heroin overdose in April 2014.
