Eugenie Bouchard Keeps Super Bowl Date

Eugenie Bouchard has kept her promise to go on a blind date with a student after the pair made a bet on Twitter over the US Super Bowl earlier this month.

Bouchard, 22, had taken to social media to predict the Atlanta Falcons would win the final when they were already 21-0 ahead. However, 20-year-old student John Goehrke was supporting the opposition – New England Patriots. He tweeted the Canadian tennis player and bet her a date that his team would win.


Bouchard accepted the bet – and in the final minutes of the game, the Patriots came back to win 34-28.

Earlier this week, Bouchard took to Twitter to share a photo of herself and Goehrke and wrote alongside the image: "Just met my 'Super Bowl Twitter Date' John. On our way to the @BrooklynNets game!"
