According to the gossip site, the couple separated in April 2014, with 47-year-old Kapfer filing for legal separation in August of that year. The pair are thought to have dated on and off throughout this time, but now the actor is said to have filed for divorce.
Gooding Jr., 49, is understood to have agreed to pay his ex spousal support, but he wants any earnings he has made since their official legal separation date to remain with him and not split with his ex. He is also said to have asked for joint custody of their youngest child, 11-year-old Piper. The pair also have two adult children, Mason and Spencer.
The couple were high school sweethearts and married in 1994.
