His comments come after one of Price's ex-husband's – Alex Reid – criticised the former model, saying she was a bad example and that she brought "shame" on ITV's Loose Women where Price is one of the panellists.
Speaking to The Sun's Bizarre column, Reid said of his ex: "Katie brings absolute shame on the production. It is a shame on modern society and what we stand for and put up with."
However, Cipriani – who briefly dated Katie in 2011 – has now defended her, saying people want to hear her opinion.
He told The Sun: "People want to hear her opinion. She has cared for [her children] and in difficult situations she has remained a doting mother. She has a lot of fans in that sense."
Price, who is now married to Kieran Hayler, has five children from different relationships.
