Serena Williams Announces Engagement

Serena Williams has confirmed her engagement to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.

On Thursday, the tennis star took to the website to share a photo of the couple together. In the image, the 35-year-old's engagement ring can be clearly seen on her left hand.

The couple are understood to have been on a trip to Rome when Ohanian proposed to his partner of two years.


Sharing the couple's happy news, Williams wrote a poem and posted it on Reddit. It read:

"I came home / A little late / Someone had a bag packed for me / And a carriage awaited / Destination: Rome / To escort me to my very own 'charming' / Back to where our stars first collided

"At the same table we first met by chance / This time he made it not by chance / But by choice / Down on one knee / He said 4 words / And I said yes."

Ohanian later shared the poem on his Facebook account, writing: "She said yes."
