The 32-year-old appeared on ITV's This Morning on Friday where he discussed his new music, as well as his split from long-term girlfriend Francesca Thomas.
Speaking to the hosts, he said that it was his "addiction" to work that was behind his separation from Thomas. However, he said that he had not yet given up on love and that he wanted to get married and start a family.
He made the comments as he explained his new single – Years and Years – and said: "I imagine this is the song I'll sing to my wife."
When he was then asked if the "dream" was to have a wife and children, he said: "Of course. Hopefully I'll meet someone and have children."
He added: "At the moment I'm too addicted to work. That's one of the reasons me and my ex broke up. I love my job. I love what I do."
Murs and Thomas separated at the end of 2015 following a three-year relationship.
