Last month it was rumoured that the couple had called time on their engagement, but this is the first time it has been confirmed. It was said that the couple had a "huge row" before the split, but in an interview just days before the alleged split, Nelson spoke of her love for her other half.
However, appearing on ITV's Loose Women on Monday, Nolan and her fellow panellists were discussing the pressure placed on people to marry as soon as they are engaged.
Commenting on the issue, Colleen admitted: "With Jake and Jesy when they first got engaged, instantly all the press were asking, 'When is the wedding?'"
Another panellist, Ruth Langsford, then interrupted and asked if the couple had actually separated, to which she replied: "Yeah [they have]. It's kind of amicable and they've both been dealing with it really well. They are good friends."
The couple announced their engagement in 2015, a year after they first met.
