The actor was appearing on 'Watch What Happens Live', when he addressed the claims. The conversation arose when Redmayne revealed that Swift had auditioned for the big screen adaptation of Les Misérables, of which the actor was one of the stars.
The same year the movie was released, there were rumours that the pair were an item. However, speaking to Andy Cohen, the 34-year-old said: "I absolutely can put the rumours to rest. I never went out on a date with Taylor Swift."
He then explained where the story had originated, saying: "She [Swift] auditioned for Les Misérables. She was amazing in the audition. We got to sing together, which was a big moment for me, but no, we never went out."
