Speaking to the Evening Standard, the former X Factor winner revealed that the couple dated for a few months. Ora was a guest judge on the talent show in 2012 – the year James won the competition – and the pair were romantically linked shortly afterwards after they were said to be getting close at an X Factor Live party. However, at the time, Ora said she was "too busy" for a boyfriend.
James has now said that the couple did briefly enjoy a romance.
He told the publication: "Me and Rita were seeing each other on-and-off for a few months. All of a sudden we just stopped talking. Maybe it was bad for her image to be seen with me. I was a little bitter about that because she'd said she had a lot of feelings for me."
