Katie Price has announced she is to take a break from the spotlight in order to focus on her marriage.
The former glamour model announced on ITV's Loose Women on Friday that she would be temporarily quitting the show in order to do so. In recent weeks, the 38-year-old has been promoting her latest autobiography – Reborn – which addresses her husband Kieran Hayler's affair with her former best friend Jane Pountney. While Price has repeatedly said that she had moved on from the incident, she has now admitted that "old wounds" have been re-opened.
She said: "We had therapy and I thought I was okay. The past two weeks I've been on my book tour and it's opened up some wounds. It's been awful. I thought I'd dealt with it.
"When I look back, I had just had babies and was concentrating on them and I was numb when it all happened. A few months ago, the legal team said to go through the book, but I couldn't read it.
"I was getting all nervous about the book tour, I was contracted to do it, when people would ask questions, I'm quite good at putting up a defence but I just couldn't do it with this."
She continued: "If I'm hurt I try to answer it in a jokey, banter way. I haven't got any tears to cry. My heart is shattered, it's broken. It's nowhere near healed.
"We've come two-and-a-half years and Kieran is having to relive what kind of person I was, and I'm living it with a fresh mind, thinking, 'This is really what he did to me?'
"We are going to see a therapist to reassure us we're fine. It's a relief to me to admit I'm not as strong as people think. Enough is enough. I have to let me barriers down.
"I want to help Kieran through this as well. It's been tough on us both. It's been turbulent."
Price said that she and 29-year-old Hayler would enjoy a "belated honeymoon" and spend time with their children; Jett, three, and two-year-old Bunny. Price is also a mother to sons Harvey, 14, and Junior, 11, and nine-year-old daughter Princess from previous relationships.
In May 2014, Price discovered that her husband had been sleeping with her best friend Jane Pountney. Katie was pregnant with the couple's second child at the time. She initially said she was to divorce her partner, but later said that she would stand by him.
