In a statement, Nick Watts, Emma's Diary Partnership Director, said: "Midwives have been key stakeholders in Emma's Diary since it started 25 years ago and we are really excited to be working much more closely with them, and the RCM, to shape how we work together to provide pregnant woman and new parents with the best possible service.
"Supporting and aligning ourselves with healthcare professionals and the vital role they play is key to the way we work."
Louise Silverton, RCM Director for Midwifery, added: "This is a very positive step for both organisations. Both are working to ensure that women and their families have the best available information on which to base their pregnancy and parenting decisions.
"This makes the alliance a natural move forward from the work we have already done together. We look forward to a fruitful partnership arrangement that will benefit our members and in turn, the women babies and families that midwives care for."
The RCM already works with Emma's Diary, which sponsors the Mums' Midwife of the Year Award.
