On Thursday, The Sun newspaper published a number of photographs of Swift and Hiddleston kissing and holding hands on a beach in Rhode Island.
A witness is quoted by the publication as saying: "They were all over each other – hugging and kissing – even though there were 20 people coming and going on the beach. They looked like any young couple madly in love without a care in the world."
The photos emerge just a month after the pair were spotted dancing together at the Met Gala in New York, and just two weeks after Swift confirmed her relationship with Scottish DJ Calvin Harris had ended after 15 months.
Shortly after their split, Harris took to Twitter to say of their relationship: "The only truth here is that a relationship came to an end & what remains is a huge amount of love and respect."
That tweet, as well as any reference to his ex on social media, has since been deleted. He also deleted a tweet which he posted on Wednesday night which simply read: "Oh boy it's about to go down", and has unfollowed the singer on the site.
Swift has also now removed any trace of Harris on her social media accounts.
