The Good Morning Britain host was grilled about her relationship status by co-host Piers Morgan on Wednesday morning. Throughout the show, the 45-year-old mum-of-three was spotted wearing a ring on her ring finger. However, she kept switching the ring from her left, to her right hand.
Reid and Morgan were speaking to another of their co-presenters, Charlotte Hawkins, about a new study which claims married people are less likely to die after a heart attack than those who are single. This then led Morgan to question Reid about her current relationship status.
Morgan said: "If you are genuinely single like Susanna is, does that mean you're more at risk of dying? And should she be looking for a suitable partner, just to make sure she doesn't die?"
Reid responded: "Can I just say you know nothing about my relationship status."
"Is there something you would like to share with us?" he asked, to which Reid added: "No. It's not something I would like to discuss on national television."
However, her co-star wasn't willing to let the conversation go.
"Oh, that's a little bombshell," he said. "Is that why you are swapping your rings around?"
The question forced Reid to quickly reply: "Just to reassure viewers, I am not actually engaged or married. I just happen to be wearing a ring on that finger and that finger."
Reid was previously in a long-term relationship with Dominic Cotton. They ended their romance in February 2014, after 16 years together. The couple have three sons.
