The Loose Women panellist was discussing how difficult it is to end a toxic relationship with her fellow co-hosts Andrea McLean, Coleen Nolan and Janice Street Porter when she made the comments.
The 28-year-old said: "I always fall into toxic relationships, not intentionally. There are plenty of things in life you can do by halves but I think you should fall in love, madly passionately... often devastatingly. You have to fall 100% or I don't see the point."
She was challenged on her thoughts by Nolan who said that staying in a relationship – even when the passion ends – can result in a different, but just as special, kind of love.
"The longer you're in a relationship the passion turns into something else – something lovely," she defended.
"I've never been to that stage," Pattison replied. "I thought it was always meant to be like that, thought it was always meant to be exciting. What do you get excited about for the next level, radio four?"
Pattison was previously engaged to her former Geordie Shore co-star Ricci Guarnaccio. She has also briefly dated reality television stars Stephen Bear, Spencer Matthews and Mario Falcone.
