Louis ended his romance with the former TOWIE star in February, five weeks after they celebrated their one year anniversary.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he said: "Yeah things are a lot better. I would go as far as to saying that we're friends now which is what I always wanted to happen because it wasn't a vicious break up, it just wasn't right.
"To get into the position that we're in now obviously I needed to say what wasn't right in the relationship, which isn't nice to hear from her end, so I think a bit of time gone by - they say time heals all wounds - so I'd like to say that we're civil and we're friends again. We chat now and again, and we're still in contact, which is nice because she was a good friend, she was a very good girlfriend and I did love her a lot."
