Danny had a fling with Isabel, who plays Victoria Brown, last year and kept it from Michael, who had dated Isobel and Danny's girlfriend, Hollyoaks actress Kirsty-Leigh Porter.
Kirsty Leigh is believed to have discovered messages from Isabel on Danny's phone.
Michael, who plays Ross Barton, was reportedly devastated and he shares a dressing room with Danny.
Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, a source said: "Isabel and Danny thought they could keep their romance secret but when Kirsty-Leigh saw the texts on his phone, the game was up.
"She was furious. She felt hurt and betrayed. Michael was also angry. He thought he and Danny were close friends.
"The tension between them caused arguments among the cast who split into two camps over who to support."
Isabel and Michael are believed to be back together.
