The Sun claims the Coldplay singer has now signed the papers initially filed by his estranged wife 10 months ago.
A source is quoted by the newspaper as saying: "Chris has now signed the divorce papers. There was no underlying reason why he had left them for so long and he was planning to do it eventually.
"There is no bad blood between him and Gwyneth and they remain very close. As ever, their number one priority is their kids."
The couple are expected to receive joint legal and physical custody of their two children, Apple and Moses, and are also likely to split their assets evenly.
Martin, 30, and 45-year-old Paltrow announced in March 2014 that they had separated after 10 years of marriage. The couple have two children together; 15-year-old daughter Apple, and a son Moses, who is nine. Despite their separation, the couple have remained good friends.
