Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the 54-year-old actor was responding to claims that his wife had transitioned to fame well when he said: "She does very well with that. It's hard to do."
And on the subject of movie premieres, which Amal was accompanying him earlier this week, he added: "Well, it's fun for me. I don't know how much fun it is for her."
The pair are said to have met through a mutual friend in September 2013. In April 2014, the couple announced their engagement. They tied the knot in September of that year.
