A photograph – and subsequent message – left on Instagram by Lewis Hamilton has led many to believe he is missing his ex-girlfriend, Nicole Scherzinger.
The Former One driver shared a photograph of himself lying alongside a tiger to the social media site. He captioned the image: "I miss my favourite girl Nicole the Tiger. She's recovering well. As you can see, we're pretty close. She's the sweetest girl plus if you mess with me, she'll bite your ass or eat you:) Now that's a friend. @blackjaguarwhitetiger #Nicole #tiger #bestbuddies."
While it appears the 31-year-old is genuinely talking about the tiger in the photo, some have suggested there is a hidden meaning in the message, and that he is actually referring to his ex-girlfriend.
Included in some of the comments, users have asked the sportsman if he is missing his former partner, while others have encouraged the couple to give their romance yet another try. Scherzinger, 37, and Hamilton dated on-and-off for seven years, before ending their relationship for good in February 2015.
