Davis, 22, and McConnell have constantly flirted with each other and even shared a kiss since they entered the CBB house earlier this month. However, Davis was in a relationship before entering the house – and has now admitted to her fellow housemates that she is in "love" with McConnell, and not her partner, Reece.
Reece has remained quiet regarding the pair's alleged romance in the house, but a source has now spoken to the MailOnline, and said: "Sam's very upset. He's heartbroken and devastated. He can't quite believe what he's been watching on Celebrity Big Brother.
"He didn't expect in a million years to see what's been happening with Stephanie. When he said goodbye to her going into the house, he thought this was just going to be a wonderful experience for her, but he's just really shocked now."
The only reference Reece has made to the romance claims was on Twitter on Monday night when, after seeing McConnell admit that he and Davis were "more than friends", he wrote: "Hi everyone, I will no longer be supporting Stephanie Davis... Thanks for all your support and love you have given me!!"
It is not clear if he was referring to the couple's relationship, or his support for her on social media, however the actress's behaviour has been strongly criticised by the public, media and their fellow housemates.
