Kerry Katona 'Filing For Divorce'

Kerry Katona is filing for divorce from her estranged husband George Kay, it has been confirmed.

The couple separated last year after Kay allegedly assaulted the singer in a domestic incident at their home in East Sussex. At the time, Katona confirmed she had consequently ended their marriage.

Earlier this week, her partner appeared in court charged with assault by beating and unlawful possession of a Taser. A judge served the former rugby player with a no-contact order, but just a day later, despite being told by a judge to avoid all contact with Kerry without the presence of a third party or he'd be in breach of his bail conditions, the 36-year-old was reportedly spotted at Katona's home.

However, the singer – who has previously said she "wasn't ready" to remove her wedding rings following their separation – has said the divorce is going ahead.

A representative for the 35-year-old is quoted as saying: "She's filing for divorce. Kerry has hired a divorce lawyer and she has taken rings off. It's a state of mind."

Katona and Kay started dating in 2012. They announced their engagement in 2013 and in April 2014, welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Dylan Jorge. In September of that year, the pair married. Katona is also a mum of four other children, from previous relationships.
