It has been reported that the singer chose to enter the house because he wanted to change the public's perception about him. He has stayed out of the drama that has surrounded other housemates in recent days, and his fiancé Gary has said he is "so proud" of his partner.
According to reports, Gary is quoted as saying: "People are definitely changing their opinions on him and seeing what a genuine caring person he really is.
"I miss him like mad. It's so different to when he was on X Factor as he was allowed to have his phone and I was worried about him going into the house but I can see now he is really enjoying it."
In September 2014, Maloney revealed he and his partner were engaged.
