The poll, which was commissioned by sunshine.co.uk, asked 2,616 people about where they would like to visit on holiday this year, as well as who they would like to visit with.
Topping the list with 36% of the vote, 'partners' were said to be the most desirable travel companions this year, with many saying their boyfriend/girlfriend, husband/wife was their first choice. This was followed by 'friends' with 28%, and 'relatives' (21%), which included siblings, parents and grandparents.
Some 26% of those who took part in the survey also admitted that one of their travel regrets from 2015 was who they had decided to go on holiday with.
And when it comes to those all-important holiday spots to go?
Lanzarote was in first place, securing just over half of the vote (51%). This was followed by mainland Spain (47%) and Majorca (38%), while Iceland (18%) and Mexico (5%) also made the top 10 destinations.
