Speaking to the Sunday Times she recommended that parents keep their children's' use of smartphones to a minimum.
She said: "Don't let them sleep with (the device).
"Play Monopoly. These things are not rocket science. Do drawing games. If we go the pub we always take paper and a pen.
"I think parents are losing control.
"Especially if they're busy parents. It's really hard to keep your finger on the pulse."
Kate has two sons and one daughter.

Oscar winning actress Kate Winslet has said busy parents are "losing control" over their children due to modern technology.Speaking to the Sunday Times she recommended that parents keep their children's' use of smartphones to a minimum.
